    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

There are a couple reasons why I give it three stars. Because it was a concurrent enrollment course, our teacher had some leniency when giving us work, which meant that she gave the bare minimum. It was an extremely easy course, which I suppose is good in some ways, but I also could have learned much more if it were more challenging. But in the beginning of the course it was extremely helpful and I have been able to apply the drawing techniques that we learned into every aspect of my art.

    Course highlights:

Much of what I learned came from the textbook: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. It opened up my understanding of not only drawing but 2D and 3D art. It gave me the key to making good art: there is a difference between what you see and what you think you see. The first step is learning which is which when you are going to draw or paint or sculpt something. An artist's personal style happens when they have their own balance of reality and perception. Well, these last things are more of my own take on what I've learned from experience, based on that key principle I learned in this class. But I found it extremely useful. Our teacher was available for help when needed and is an overall nice person.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Well, the truth is that all you need to do is get your work done like any other class. Having some experience drawing and an effort to become better is obviously required, but talent is not necessarily a prerequisite. The assignments are very easy and the hard part for me was keeping up on the reading because I always think I can read faster than I actually can. Basically I procrastinate, but that's the only problem I had. Overall the atmosphere and the teacher were an A+ rating.
