This class was tough.
Vergobbi is an incredibly engaging professor and seeing as this course is required for Communications majors, why not take it from someone who cares deeply about the material and your ability to understand it?
You'll grow to understand the laws that guide people in the media industry and several cases that were key to changing the current laws surrounding publishing and the rights you'll be able to defend if you ever run into trouble.

Advice for students:
This class is tough only if you make it tough. Vergobbi requires a lot from his students, but, as he says, it's for their benefit. He assigns readings every week and expects you to have them prepared before class. ALWAYS DO THE READING. If he tells you to outline the cases, DO IT. They are essential to your success in this course. Also, make a study group and meet weekly. I had one and we split up the cases which made it so much easier to handle the workload. I only put 3-5 hours a week into the class and I definitely should have put more in and been more diligent with studying for the exams. However, I can't stress enough that if you want to learn the material, having Vergobbi as a professor will insure that you get that opportunity.
