    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Ketzle is such an awesome and smart man! I came into the class expecting a writing class but it was so much more. Our semester topic was racial inequality and I left that class with a completely changed point of view. I always knew there was racial inequality in our country but I never knew it was on such a large and sometimes obvious scale.

    Course highlights:

Clear objectives, great feedback, and a passionate and smart professor made this my favorite college class I've ever taken. The class is not easy at all but it is very rewarding.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the reading! If you don't do the reading you will be very behind.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Newman opens intriguing class discussions, gives great liberty to students in research essay topic, and encourages "writing in the middle" for students to improve their writing during the entire process. She values each individual student.

    Course highlights:

The reading for this class was very stimulating and helped me change my way of thinking about writing and learning in general. I loved the research paper assignment because I could choose any topic and I really learned how to ask questions.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read so that you can participate in class and get on her good side. You'll get a lot more help from her that way. Choose a research question right off the bat so that your research and essay take a clear direction from the start (it will save you a lot of time). Enjoy the creative process!!
