Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was such an invaluable course to take as an aspiring journalist and visual communicator. There are so many implications we must be aware of when it comes to producing and sharing visual content, and this course helps to give students a better understanding of our visual culture.

    Course highlights:

The best thing about this course was that each week we focused on a different topic. Such as feminism, race or climate change and how all of these things are communicated through images. I learned a lot about gender and the continuing transformation of how we understand it and how it is being communicated by top media outlets right now as the idea continues to evolve. Stacey was amazing about answering any of my questions since a lot of the material could sometimes take some time to fully grasp.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you are up to date on the readings. These only help you better understand the material and you will get way more out of this class versus if you only skim the first few pages of the readings. Don't be afraid to ask questions either! There's a lot of space in the course to ask the tougher questions.
