    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    It is a required class that challenges you with an introduction to mechanics of materials. Although challenging, what you learn is invaluable later on.

    Course highlights:

    The highlights of this course were the topics of principal stress states and mohr envelopes. For Foundations and Other Geotechnical classes these concepts are fundamental to understanding.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Stay on top of things. Make sure you understand class notes and do all homeworks if possible. This is a class you cannot miss because you will fall behind.

    Dr. Chambers is very knowledgeable. She has a lot of good hints to make the work easier and is very helpful.

    Course highlights:

    I think the course is a good indicator of the kind of dedication is required to go into this kind of career. It's required because the knowledge gained in this class is essential.

    Study is absolutely required for this class. Make sure you study all material given to you by Dr. Chambers.
