Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Becker is a professional guy that likes to lighten up accounting. He has great real world experience at Qualcom and likes to relate our class to that

    Course highlights:

The course is pretty cut and dry other than the fact that you spend a week or so looking into major scandals in modern business such as Madoff

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Put in the work because the class is tough but definitely doable

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Steve Lake is a really good professor. He has real world experience and makes accounting enjoyable and fun.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of this course was understanding why accounting is needed in today's world. We went over different scandals that happened because of the lack of ethics in accounting firms and how scandals can be prevented. We learned a lot, we learned about balance sheets, income statements, accounting equations and more. It was a lot of information covered in just one semester.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen to the professor closely and take notes. Be sure to go over the equations and problems multiple times so you understand how everything works. The professor works a separate job full-time so your limited in the sense that he isn't on campus very often and his TA was doing a masters degree so try to get groups together.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it helps you create a business mind. Whether accounting is for you or not, the numbers are important to learn. The teacher did such a great job engaging everyone in the class.

    Course highlights:

I learned how businesses utilize their books and all of the basics of how they work. The most interesting thing that I learned was about all of the scandals, and how easy it is for accountants to commit fraud. There are many different sides to accounting, and in this class you can learn which area is best for you. Either that, or you can decide if you like accounting or not. It is all information that will be used in every business.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take really good notes and follow along with the teacher. There are practice quizzes that aren't required, however, they are very helpful. Make sure to go see some TA's and go to the study sessions. It helps to keep the information fresh in your mind, because you have to think very differently in the world of accounting.
