    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Great teacher who wants you to succeed. If you do the homework and the problem sets she is giving you everything you need to pass her class.

    Course highlights:

Holly provides an excellent source of information. Going to lecture and the discussions is indeed a benefit to you. She is in each discussion session so that you can pick her brain. Take these easy points and do well.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

As I have mentioned, you need to go to lecture and discussions. Holly bases her tests off what she sees are the weak points from the discussion sheets. So if you understand the discussion sheets, you will do well on the tests.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Holly is the single most caring professor I have ever met on campus. She actively participates in the learning of the students and is very accessible for more personal help.

    Course highlights:

Organic chemistry became my favorite subject as I began to realize what was happening in many of the processes within the body and understood how and why they happen.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice, practice, practice! Do the problem sets she assigns, and review the problems frequently.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This professor wants to see you succeed, she constantly tells you that you can do well in organic chemistry, that she believes in you. She constantly lifts you up and tells you that you can make it through the course. Also, the grading system (assuming it is still the same) has a fail safe for students who don't understand the course at the beginning- If you do better on the final exam that your current grade is your final exam score will be your final grade.

    Course highlights:

I learned all sorts of things about the different functional groups in organic chemistry, I learned how to choose reactants to rearrange molecules to form a new molecule.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to stay on top of the homework, and you need to study. I made the mistake of ignoring the extra credit homework I could've done and because I didn't do it I did not understand the course anywhere near as well as I needed to and was failing for the majority of the course. Luckily the teacher understands that it might take a while to understand the material and has a fail safe for those students who don't get it at the beginning of the course - your final exam score will be your final grade if it is higher than your percentage in the class.
