Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class with Professor Burgess because she genuinely cares about her students. This class helped prepare me for more than just my career in business. This course will be useful for the rest of my life.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to effectively communicate in different styles for various situations.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to put the work in for the class. It isn't a lot of work, and the work is actually useful, things that everyone should know. Ask questions if you have any or let Cheryl know if you are struggling. She is more than willing to help with whatever it is.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was very beneficial. It teaches you the proper way to communicate with other business professionals and how to make yourself credible so others will work with you.

    Course highlights:

There were a few highlights of this course which were how to build an effective resume and how to create respectable business letters/emails. For the first part of the semester we focused on building effective resumes. I had never really been taught the proper way to build a resume. This course helped me to know the set up of a resume, how to make a resume even if you haven't worked multiple jobs, and how to tailor them to a specific application. The second highlight was how to create effective business letters/email. While this may seem like a no brainer, it is important to know how to deliver certain types of news whether it is positive or negative news.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Advise I would give students considering this course is to stay on top of your homework and take time to do the projects. The projects in this course don't seem like they'd take too much effort; however the grading that goes into them is a little more strict than most. Be prepared to get the grade that reflects the amount of work you put into your assignments.
