The professor really cares about the content, which is very informative and enlightening. It really gets you thinking and is very interesting. It has 4 essay exams; two on books, and two on lecture material. And there are thirteen-ish quizzes on material in another book, but they're pretty easy with a review beforehand.
The highlights of this course is a more unbiased view on colonization and the origins of the Revolutionary War. Theirs good accounts of life in slavery, and as a colonist in the Massachusetts settlements around the Revolutionary war. Good accounts straight from the actual experiences of these times.

Advice for students:
One major study tip is to review before the weekly quizzes. Another for the major exams is to review the main topic ideas and actually right on those topics; chances are is you will use what you practiced with in some way. I really didn't need any studying beyond that.
