    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Dave does a great job explaining the subject material. I now understand not only how to solve a problem but why. I understand at a new depth how to use this subject in the future.

    Course highlights:

How to use functions. Math skills, How to look at math problems very differently. I feel like I now know how the world works.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to SI. Pay attention and take advantage of the students around you. I learn more from those I study with then the class itself.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I really liked this course! It was a great refresher for my basic algebra skills. It builds upon itself and aids in other courses such as Math 1060. The instructor is very good at explaining in easy to understand words and always showing her work and explaining why and how to work the problem. The recitation that is taken in addition to this course is very useful for additional practice and to check your understanding of the material.

    Course highlights:

This course aided me in building my understanding of the use of the imaginary number i, logarithms and exponential functions, matrices, poly-numeric equations, and equations and the graphs of equations of higher orders.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

If you have a basic understanding of algebra and how to manipulate equations, this class should be easy. If you do not like math or do not have a natural aptitude for it, the instructors are great and are always willing to answer any doubts or confusion. Practice is provided in the class and there are lots of notes that you can study.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Math 1050 number one because most majors require you to take it. It also helps teaches you to think things through, it is not a class that you can just show up and do no work and expect to pass.

    Course highlights:

As stated previously my ability to think through things has increased tremendously. I also loved this course because of the way it was run. He allowed us to get into groups often and work through things together. It helped all of us to not only be able to communicate better but we were able to combine knowledge and help everyone understand.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice i can give to students taking this course would be to not procrastinate. If you allow yourself to get behind in this course it will overwhelm you right from the start.
