    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The videos provided by the professors for each chapter have a wealth of information for the course and step by step for performing the calculations for the projections needed for budgeting in the manufacturing world.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of cost accounting. The professors made it easy to understand. There are many formulas to learn in this class for the calculation for estimating job and processing costs for various projects. The professors provided tips on how to make remembering the formulas easy!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Flash cards for the formulas and terminology are helpful. Watching the videos and taking the quizzes help also. As you are doing the quizzes, they show the formulas below after selecting your answer even if you had the correct answer. That was definitely very helpful

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course, although a bit of a beast, was very straightforward and informative. The learning resources provided were clear and comprehensive and allowed for multiple opportunities to practice the required skills needed to successfully complete the final assessment.

    Course highlights:

I'm not a math major so I was dubious as to what, if anything, I would take away from this course. I was surprised, however, that I enjoyed the critical thinking and problem solving aspects more than expected and definitely think I learned some new skills in that area that are transferable to other subjects, not just accounting.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would strongly advise students to spend a good amount of time on the beginning chapters and develop a firm understanding of the principles and concepts laid out. Devoting time to making sure I had a solid grip on the foundational aspects of this course definitely helped as I worked through the rest of the chapters as it builds as you move through the course. Also, attend the workshops, listen to the recorded webinars and reach out to the mentors as they are a wealth of information.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is the most difficult course I have taken and it only counts for 3 credits. It is extremely difficult when you have to "teach yourself" the material. There are course mentors and cohorts but I do not feel they are enough.

    Course highlights:

Currently am working through the course. Have been working on the course for over a month. I am learning how to really prioritize my time to get through this class.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to schedule enough time to work through the course material. Make sure that you read the material and work through the Learn Smart modules.
