Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor is very user friendly. The course just updated, which is good since the text book chapters are not in logical order. The quizzes within the course were a big help in applying the concepts.

    Course highlights:

The best topic area that I learned was the different types of motivation for learning and understanding barriers to learning. There are so many reasons children have a hard time learning and this course provided recommendations on improving educational outcomes for different types of learners.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Review the course: Fundamentals of Education class.

Make sure you pay very close attention to the theorist as that will be very important for the final. And pay close attention on ways to implement techniques into the classroom.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Motivating students to learn is discussed at length in the Fundamentals of Educational Psychology course. Learning the scientifically proven methods of motivation, behavior management, and also dysfunctions caused by various disorders and disabilities is very important for the future teacher.

    Course highlights:

I realized that I did not need to always rely on my instincts when it comes to teaching because there are people who have studied, experimented and documented their findings in classroom situations. I can glean wisdom from their work and implement their ideas into my practice.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I learned about mind-mapping during this course and found it very helpful. Also, I was having trouble remembering which theories went with which theorists, so, I devoted a singular page or section of a page to each theorist, drew a picture of what they looked like with colored pencils and then added their information on this page. I found that the color and the act of drawing helped me to remember their information better. Hope that helps
