    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course to nursing students who are interested in community nursing. It teaches you how to perform a community health assessment.

    Course highlights:

I learned that obesity is a major health concern in my local community. I developed an action plan with interventions to prevent obesity in my community, specifically through healthy nutrition and physical activity.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I recommend starting on the field log as soon as possible. Logging hours of community interviews and assessments takes a long time. Also, schedule a phone call with your course mentor when you begin the course. Your mentor will give you tips and advice on how to write the paper.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Get started early. It seems daunting at first, but once you actually start doing the work, it is very simple and straight forward.
