    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This is a very applicable course that every college student should be required to take, but especially educators. It is essential that educators are competent in core subjects such as math. By advancing your math skills you are better off teaching simpler and more basic skills to your future students. I thought this class did a great job in assisting me in furthering my math skills which in turn will prepare me for my PRAXIS teaching exams.

    Course highlights:

The videos through the Pearson Math Lab are very helpful in learning the material. The structure of the course is also very well thought out and organized. I used the prechecks and homework assignments to work through the class in a timely manner. After that, I took my pre-assessment and went back and watched the videos for the units I needed to review.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely take the pre-checks and then do the assigned homework assignments. If that isn't enough use the videos listed in each unit to assist in learning the material and than try the post-checks. The comprehensive Post Test at the end of all 12 units will prepare you for the objective assessment. I found that using the white board made the course easier, but than later prevented me from studying so be sure to take notes. Especially on the more challenging problems, so you can go back and review them before taking the exam.
