    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it teaches you to think more critically about patients, their medications, their background, and what barriers they have that prevent them from being compliant with treatment. It's not a simple thing to tell patients to take their medications as prescribed as many may not have the right support or resources to get their meds.

    Course highlights:

The course also taught me to go more in depth with medications that I frequently give to patients, but that I didn't realize all the other possible interactions it has with other meds they may be taking. Also, I learned that people with different backgrounds may react differently with medications. For example, African Americans do not respond to certain blood pressure medications.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The cohorts were very helpful, and going through the case studies live and having the discussions was eye-opening. I advise doing the readings, taking notes, and flash cards would be helpful for regulations and laws.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend it. It's a great brush-up on pharmacology for nurses who have not taken a pharm class in several years. It's in the masters program.

    Course highlights:

This course offers general knowledge information about drugs, but also offers things like government regulatory issues, availability, and the economic impact of drug usage. Much broader perspective than just the usual pharm class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This is mostly a memorization-type course, no paper-writing is required. The final test covers a wide range of medications. I found spending a little time each day studying was my best approach.
