Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I took this class to fulfill my humanities requirement, but I am so glad that I took it! Professor Caldwell was so engaging and he made us laugh every day. He doesn't give multiple choice tests. Our exams were all essays. He gave us the opportunity to take what we learned and form our own opinions and ideas about it. I learned so much in this class, not only about the subject matter, but also about myself and my own beliefs. The course was so much fun and I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

    Course highlights:

We did a project where we were required to attend a religious service of a different religion that was not your own. I am a Christian, so I attend a Jewish service. We had to write a final paper on what we observed, and then had to analyze why and how we observed what these pop;le did and how they acted. This project opened my eyes to a new religion and I learned so much and saw many parallels between Judaism and Christianity because of it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you like to write and form your own opinions, this course would be perfect for you.Professor Caldwell is extremely open-minded and understanding. You can talk to him about anything, and he will take the time to answer your questions and work with you. This course was very rewarding and if you are interested at all about religion and/or people's beliefs, definitely take this class.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would absolutely recommend this course as one that isn't extremely demanding or difficult, but so interesting and eye-opening. It is a perfect add on for a difficult course load, if you want to take a course that is somewhat easy-going and genuinely interesting.

    Course highlights:

I gained a entirely new understanding of religion. In this course, the professor touches on a very wide array of religions, and the cultures surrounding them (from Satanism to Islam). It's hard to highlight only one part, since I enjoyed the course so much. The thing that surprised me the most are how similar religions are (the basis of each). Once you realize this, it opens up your mind to an incredibly different way of thinking about all people and the religion they practice. I learned to be a lot more understanding of various religions because of the reasons people practice them, as well as a basic understanding of so many different religions.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed, I highly recommend going to class and actually listening to the lectures. Ask questions, pick at the professor's brain. Studying should be light if you go to class and pay attention. He gives out study guides that are pretty thorough, however, if you miss lecture it could prove difficult.
