    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is a requirement for Engineering majors of all kinds but this professor is amazing.

    Course highlights:

This course covers computer programming and computer logic, but it also explores a mindset that engineers of all types need for work.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not miss class and definitely do not be afraid to ask questions. There are people of varying knowledge levels here and some of them might be intimidated and have the same question.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Even though the textbook is online through Zybooks, Dr. Han is good at clarifying the directions and at guiding us to the answer. The TA’s for the course also do not hesitate to help.

    Course highlights:

Basic coding is so important! I am so glad I learned how to create a code and follow the steps necessary to execute it. When you get your first "Hello World" out from your laptop you will want to learn how to do more things.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not hesitate to take this course if you believe that you will want to apply basic coding skills in creating simple things, such as your own website. It does not hurt to try, especially if you don't want to take a boring elective.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course definitely taught me a lot about C++ and computer programming. I can tend to move quite quickly however, as exercises are due every week. Keep on top of the homework, and you will learn a lot. Dr. Kolta is not the most entertaining teacher ever, but he explained all the concepts clearly so I could understand, and he is willing to provide extra help during office hours. Overall, not my favorite course, but certainly not a bad course or one that I wouldn't recommend.

    Course highlights:

We learned about the C++ computer programming language and how to write our own code. We go over new topics, commands, or ideas each class and have an exercise due every class time on the previously studied material. there are occasionally quizzes and a few tests. Homework is completed on Zybooks online.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Just make sure you stay on top of homework, as no late work is accepted and it is actually very helpful. The key to getting used to C++ is experience. I entered with no knowledge about programming, but learned a lot because I did all the assignments and exercises online.
