Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Bogenpohl's teaching method is straight-forward and thorough. He does an excellent job of breaking down advanced concepts and organizing coursework in a way that allows the material to build on itself in a natural and intuitive fashion. Having completed this class, I feel confident that I have not just a superficial grasp of the material, but a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanisms and the fundamentals behind the concepts.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course included Dr. Bogenpohl's humor and his incorporation of learning exercises in game-show format. Not only did I learn the introductory principles of biology, Dr. Bogenpohl taught these concepts in a holistic framework that allowed me to relate the material to chemistry, physics, and other scientific disciplines.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would encourage prospective students to attend every class, remain attentive during the session, and study the class slides when they are posted online. The latter point is by far the best advice I can offer - I earned an "A" in this course without even reading the textbook because Dr. Bogenpohl's slides are so straight-forward and comprehensive.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is my major and also biology is always a fun subject to talk about.

    Course highlights:

There were a lot of things that were discussed in this course. We talked about how one water molecule binds to four other molecules. We also talked about the different parts of plants and animal cells. We discussed the process of cellular respiration. We mapped the process of how a protein moves throughout the cell. Another big topic was cellular communication. We talked about the different functional groups. We talked about metabolism. We talked about mitosis and meiosis.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This class is recommended for biology majors. Make sure you do readings as a side. Going to office hours are really helpful. Make sure to turn in assignments on time as well. If there is a group assignment, make sure you do your part

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The material itself is engaging and the professor does a tremendous job of relaying and simplifying the concepts.

    Course highlights:

Increased depth and breadth of understanding of biological systems and fundamental principles of life science.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study the powerpoints! They are the best resource by far and complete understanding of them will ensure you understand the material presented and will show mastery on exams.
