Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a course that is specifically geared toward helping students decide if teaching is something that they want to do. When I took the course, I took it with the chair of the education department, and it was amazing! I loved the course and the school placements are what made me realize that teaching was what I wanted to pursue.

    Course highlights:

I honestly think that the highlights that I took away from the course was the time spent in the schools. I loved my second placement! I learned that sometimes the one thing you keep pushing against is the one thing you should be giving into.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Honestly, to succeed in this course, you need to participate in room conversation, glean as much as you can from your school placements, and leave class every day with something new to think about.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Bonnie Yoder is an inspiring educator who shares her love for teaching and pushes you to discover your own path and passion

    Course highlights:

Many colleges do not allow any first hand field experience which can make it hard to make a confident decision in teaching but this course allowed an early experience in the classroom and allows you to make an informed decision on your major

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

go in ready to experience teaching in its truest examples.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It really gives you a chance to go out in the real world and see what your job would be like on a regular day. It gives you real life situations to deal with and it shows you everything that could happen at a school during the day.

    Course highlights:

I learned that caring for students is the most important thing that a teacher can do. If you don't care for them it shows and they don't learn as well or have an interest in learning.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to your practicums and don't take for granted the opportunities that the school is giving you. Also don't be afraid to jump right in and help the students, they like that a younger student is taking interest in them.
