Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Dammeyer is an especially kind person who wants you to understand the information she is providing you with, and she wants to make the course easy for you to comprehend. There's minimal homework, and she tries to make lecture and lab fun with adequate breaks.

    Course highlights:

The foundations of biology: DNA, photosynethesis, cells, RNA, proteins, lipids, etc. Focus mainly on plants and animals and their cycles.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you don't fully understand what is covered in class, you have to read the textbook. Don't just skim the information to complete the work. The chapters build on one another, so you need to make sure you have a grasp of the information.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I found it to be a simple class, as I am a science major. The class is somewhat fast-paced, and the labs don't always correspond to the chapters being reviewed. It is not a hard class in the least. It isn't difficult to study, and there are detailed instructions in the lab workbook. I would most likely recommend the class because it isn't awful if you have some interest in science.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were DNA, proteins, cell structures, kingdoms and nomenclature, and other biological principles. It takes what is learned in high school biology slightly further. An understanding of how life processes, such as photosynthesis and cellular respiration, work and an adequate understanding of proteins seem to be vital.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you know about photosynthesis and cellular respiration in detail. It is hard to learn in the short amount of time given. Proteins are not explained well, but an understanding of them is important to the class. Make sure you have these fundamental ideas before taking the class, or it will be somewhat more difficult.
