    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

BIO 214 was probably the toughest course I took in all my four years at JMU. It's challenging, interesting, and frustrating all at the same time. If you are really interested in cellular biology, I highly encourage taking it. The professors who teach it are very passionate about what they do, which makes the class even more interesting.

    Course highlights:

I gained an overall understanding of how our cellular processes work in our bodies and somewhat remember what occurs in our individual cells. This class in very in depth, and teaches you all of the amazing things individual cells do for our bodies.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to work hard. Just studying the night before, even 2 nights before, won't get you by. You also have to be interested in the material. I don't recommend taking this course if you do not have interest for cellular biology. This class goes into very descriptive detail so be prepared to work very hard to get that B.

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is very vigorous but it many good ways. Unlike the other prerequisite biology courses, this one actually challenges and tests individual knowledge. A lot of information will be thrown at you, and each exam tests the student on at least 4 chapters of 30 plus pages of information. This course was definitely a challenge for me, and I actually had to put hours of studying in to produce only B/Cs on the exams. Although I struggled the whole semester, this class did help me realize good studying habits that help me retain information. This class has prepared me to take on the other upper level bio courses I will be taking in the future.

    Course highlights:

Studying my butt off and obtaining good grades was always a pivotal achievement for me in this course. I learned that I can't just studying the night before the exam but that I need to study a week in advance to feel prepared. I also learned that self-teaching is always very helpful because it's like a review of things that you learned in class.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not take this class lightly. You will need the textbook and a clicker. Studying hard and work hard on everything. The little quizes he assigns are pretty easy, but that is the only thing.
