    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

In this course, I learned the history of America from Christopher Columbus all the way until the end of the Civil War. Thus, there was almost too much information about America just to be learned in one class. I would still recommend this class because of the amazing textbooks read and presentations watched, but I believe the class would have been much better if there was not as much information to be learned in so little time.

    Course highlights:

The French and Indian War was by far, my favorite highlight of the course. I learned information about the young George Washington and his early military life before he fought in the Revolutionary War. One aspect that was completely new to me, was the many failed attacks of George Washington in the French and Indian War. However, these many setbacks did not define young Washington, as he would later go on to command the U.S. forces in the Revolutionary War and win our independence.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention to the presentations and textbook readings. There is a large amount of information in the presentations and textbooks that are needed for the tests and essays. Paying attention and taking notes is the best advice I can give for this class.
