Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for anyone who wants to understand why the human body works they way it does. Also more towards anyone who wants to gain knoweledge for the medical field.

    Course highlights:

Some highlights of AP Biology would have to be seeing our DNA under the microscope or going to the cadaver lab at Rochhurst University as a field trip.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Advise to incoming underclass men would be to always have your note book ready, and always have Mr. Knowles' PowerPoint pulled up on the compute in front of you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course on human biology focused on the broad topics of our organ systems, but also went into enough depth so that I understand how my body works.

    Course highlights:

All the material from the lectures were very interesting because they related to how my body works every day. Being able to apply key structures and functions made learning the material a lot easier

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I learned a lot from this course because I put in the time to study. I would definitely recommend getting a study group together because there is a lot of material to learn. I would also recommend taking the biology that goes along with this course, because it forces you to review the material more.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was my first in-depth study of human anatomy. Dr. Spohn approaches the subject head on while still understanding that the majority of the class are taking it for Gen Ed requirements.

    Course highlights:

For myself, the highlight of the course was the chapter on the digestive system and nutrition. Using the information I was presented with, I made some changes to my eating habits and since then I have dropped nearly 80 lbs and I feel better than I ever have before!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of your notes. Each test covers about three chapters of material and it can be easy to fall behind. Review your notes a few times a week to save yourself the stress of cramming a couple days before the test. Other than that, try to enjoy the class! Dr. Spohn is very funny and there was never a doubt in my mind that he was genuinely interested in teaching us!
