    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course explores the many different functions of the human body, detailing the anatomy and the physiology, of all eleven body systems. I found it really interesting to see how complex our bodies are and to learn there is more than just skin and bones. My favorite part of the class was learning all 206 bones of the body. It seemed intimidating at first but once I sat down and learned them all, I found the bones to be extremely easy.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed learning about the bones in lab. We would have games every week of who could name the bone and whether it was on the left or right side of the body. The competition allowed me to really understand the bones. Also, the cat dissection and lamb brain dissection helped me to get a better understanding of the muscles and the nervous system. These hands on activities solidified what I was learning in class and allowed me to see up close and personal what the professor was just talking about in lecture.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This course is very hard and you have to put in a lot of study time outside of class. I recommend reading the chapters before coming to class and if you can't before at least read them after or before the test. Most of the test questions come from material covered in the book. Also, start studying for tests a week in advance, this greatly improved my tests grades as the semester went on.
