    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This is such an amazing course! The professor really wants to teach and is very passionate about the topic she is teaching. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in psychology, as you will not regret it! The professor says again and again that although it is a large lecture class, she likes to make it feel like a small class. She is all about participation, however she will not force anyone to participate if they are uncomfortable with it. She really is an amazing speaker and professor who really cares a lot for her students. The workload is minimal and the exams and quizzes are very basic and easy.

    Course highlights:

I have learned so much about people and their mind processes through this course and plan on taking more of Professor Donovan's courses. This is an introductory class, so it covers a variety of different information including why people do what they do, developmental psychology, the science of the brain, and many other topics. We also focus a lot on different theorists and their theories on psychology and development of the brain and ideas.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

This is a pretty easy course. Review the learnsmart activities before your exams and quizzes and you will do great!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Donovan is an incredibly smart and knowledgable woman. She cares about her students, knows her content, and does an incredible job communicating information in an understandable way.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics in a lot of what psychology is about. I learned about neurons, neurotransmitters, what different sections of the brain perform, mental illnesses and disorders, development, and much more.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Try to absorb as much knowledge as you can, especially if you are a psych major. This class introduces you to many key factors of what psychology is all about. Knowing the basics of how the brain works will help you tremendously in the long run for future psych classes.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Donovan is an incredibly gifted teacher. She uses a varied teaching style in order to help different types of learners gain knowledge of the information. She has activities that reach out to visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners alike in order to help every person have an opportunity to learn. She stands firmly by her class policies and is considerate and helpful with her students. Most importantly she brings an infectious excitement about the subject to the class. She is a joy to learn from and I hope I am able to take more of her classes.

    Course highlights:

When she was teaching us about nerve cells she had students stand up at the front and act out how nerve impulses were sent. I don't think I'll ever forget how axons work or what the synaptic gap is. She teaches well.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Even though there's an online book, get a paper copy so you can find different topics quickly. It will save you a lot of study time.
