    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are majoring in any sort of science, you will have to take this class. It is a very dense and fast-paced course, and I would not recommend taking it just for fun unless you really like doing hours of Chemistry. That being said, the course is very informative and Dr. Davy does a great job going over difficult material as well as showing how the information is practical and actually a part of every day life. Overall, its a good class, but requires a lot of time and dedication.

    Course highlights:

This class dove deeper into the practical aspects of chemistry that may have been overlooked in Chemistry 121. It was a great class for learning more about the lab and how to be successful using laboratory equipment.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It is very important to pay attention in class and keep up with the homework. It is easy to get behind and difficult to catch up because everything in the course builds on itself. Taking the time to do and understand (aka, NOT google) the homework is key to mastering the subject and doing well on the exams. It is also really super helpful to do the practice exams when studying because they generally mirror the actual exams pretty closely.

    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course especially if you are serious about chemistry. Dr. Brynteson does an amazing job teaching the material. He explains it in an engaging and understandable way. He works you hard but also gives you plenty of opportunities to earn extra credit.

    Course highlights:

I have especially enjoyed gaining a deeper and more accurate understanding of concepts that are introduced in high school such as chemical equilibrium and entropy. Even though we have not used calculus, I have appreciated when Dr. Brynteson points and explains how it is used in chemistry. All the math I thought was pointless became applicable.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to do a lot of math. Because of this, it takes extra time to really learn and understand the material. Once you do, however, you have the course conquered. The tests are difficult mainly because they are long. You will probably need to learn some new test taking techniques, I did! So, don't be discouraged if you don't do as well as you would like on the first test. The most important thing to remember is that you can do the course and succeed at it if you are willing to put work into it.
