This class was tough.
Microbiology was a fascinating course that teaches its students not only about the microbial world we are a part of, but also how we would not be able to live without it. It engenders appreciation in its students for the microbial world we have been blessed with.
The highlights of this course were the practical applications of it. By learning about the microbes inside and around us, we learn how to take care of the good microbes and rid ourselves of the bad ones. We also learned to see beyond the "all bacteria are bad" prejudice and see how essential they are to human life.

Advice for students:
Take good notes as you go along. And go to office hours! Dr. Becker is excellent at explaining concepts that are difficult to grasp.
