Advice for students:
I would make sure that when you are taking this course that you have a solid understanding that this course is hard and will take up a lot of your time.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
The course is pretty simple. Taken residentially, going to the Math Emporium is required. Even though this may be a pain, the teachers in the Math Emporium when you are there allow you to ask questions when needed and creates a space to work on homework without any distractions present.
Course highlights:
Dr. Van Voorhis is an amazing teacher. The class can be tricky at times, but meeting once a week for 50 minutes is enough for him to explain the weeks material and allow you to learn all that is the need to completed the weeks homework at the time. Dr. Van Voorhis makes the class interesting and fun and allows the class to not feel as a chore.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
When studying for tests, go back over your notes. The tests are okay, but if you do not review the material beforehand you will not do so well. Getting ahead in the class is not hard, but make sure to actually take in the information and learn in before proceeding to the next week of homework.
Pretty easy, overall.
Course Overview:
This class is the easiest statistics class and math class in general. It's an easy A in my opinion.
Course highlights:
I learned how to apply math to real world situations. There was no "how many watermelons can fit on the moon at 76 mph" type of questions, the course actually helped in future world experience.
