Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class was awesome. It taught us how to use and validate those increasingly, empirical methods which are used to justify or criticize the usage of particular counseling approaches in therapy. Government, private foundations, and corporations are asking for program evaluations to determine the merits of each program’s continued funding. Spiritual interventions are being explored for their utility in therapy. In short, the scientific method, counseling, and Christian intervention strategies are intersecting.

    Course highlights:

It was just interacting with different student who has been doing similar jobs within this profession. I learned how to become patient and listen to the client to show them that you care about why they are there in your office.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Keep a certain pace & pray for strength and wisdom throughout the course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Research is important for practically any career field. This was a mandatory class and it was difficult, but if you set your mind to it, you can make it through. Follow course material directions to a "T" and you will not fail. I also sought the assistance of tutor.com for hurdles I could not seem to get over and they were able to help guide me just past the knowledge I had to what I needed to be successful.

    Course highlights:

You have to complete your own research project, to include reporting statistics. I was not amazing at it but I did get through it successfully and having to put the numbers together myself actually taught me to read other's statistical reports with greater accuracy. I can now tell if a report is providing significant information or if they are slanting issues for their own testimony.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework. Follow instructions and keep up with the class schedule. This is not the type of course you want to get behind in. If you stay on top of your work, you minimize your stress and perform better. Also, if you run into problems, contact your professor right away to let them know what is going on and to seek assistance. Most are understanding and willing to help.
