Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the instructor encourages you to think and to take the time to develop your speech.

    Course highlights:

I have learned how to properly present a speech, how to pick and choose my words wisely, and most importantly, how to non verbally present myself while giving a speech.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Check your Blackboard Learning System daily and several time throughout the day, take heed to the comments left on completed assignment so that you will do better on the next assignment, and turn in your work on time.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Public Speaking is a very important skill no matter what age or level of education you're in. I'm shy just like most of the population and I didn't particularly like speaking in front of crowds but this course definitely helped change all of that. Mainly because it was for a grade but once I broke past that barrier speaking in front of others became a breeze and far less nerve wrecking.

    Course highlights:

Some highlights of the course were I was able to actually to take this class online so that eliminated quite a bit of my anxiety. Also I was able to do most of my speeches around my peers. My professor was very easy to communicate with and helpful. My fellow classmates provideded excellent feedback which helped me to improve on my speaking skills. I learned how to get out of my self and my comfort zone because if I didn't my grade would have suffered and that pressure aided in my growth as a speaker and ultimately made me more confident with speaking.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If this course is mandatory for your major which it probably will be make sure you practice your speeches before hand. It doesn't matter if you say it to yourself in the mirror or on the phone with a family member or friend but practice definitely gets you closer to perfect. Take your time and breath. Being relaxed makes speaking way easier and shortens the time you have to be in front of people because you won't mess up as much or even not at all. Reading other speeches or watching videos of other speaking can provide inspiration and act as a template of how you can choose to do your speech.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because there will be one point in everyone's life where they have to present a speech. So this course will help for those students who are not great at speaking publicly.

    Course highlights:

While I was taking this course I learned how to present a proper speech and how to get the audience attention.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to do a lot of research and be ready to get over that fear.
