    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course is challenging, but informative. I looked forward to each class's engaging topics and conversations. This class is a blessing in disguise because you learn so much more about the world and literature in a way that ties everything together.

    Course highlights:

This isn't your typical introductory English course. Intro to World Literature was absolutely fascinating! Each author and their corresponding works of literature were thoroughly introduced. Professor Dare provides an abundance of background information regarding each author's native country, personal struggles, political strife, and the influence of their roles on society. The information from this course has stuck with me. I can sincerely say that I feel more enlightened and knowledgeable about world literature, and I have a new-found appreciation for foreign literature.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read all additional documents posted on blackboard! If you don't know a word/concept/phrase in the ready, do yourself a favor and look it up. Professor Dare will ask if you have read and understand everything that is assigned.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it was EXTREMELY interesting! The topics and readings were limitless! and the class discussions made me want to sit in the class forever!

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the class discussions. The professor was so passionate and theatrical that the literature was brought to life! Also, she was VERY VERY knowledgeable!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise future students to READ the given assignments because they will be discussed in class, to study and keep all of your notes because tests are cumulative. Also use the writing center!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Slater is extremely passionate about her class. Even if you are not big on reading, she makes the content very enjoyable and easy to understand. I learned a lot about analyzing literature through this class!

    Course highlights:

I was able to understand what I am reading better. The proverb: "Everyone can hear, question is, can you listen?" This turned out to be very true. I can now better understand underlying issues and topics within different works of literature

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go into this course with an open-mind. Actually take the time to do the coursework because this class has something to offer to you that will be beneficial for your entire life!
