Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was very reading intensive, and leaned heavily on discussion in class. Tests were directly based on reading and in class discussion. I learned a lot about Germanic culture and mythology. The last day, we had a blot, a festival we learned about in class.

    Course highlights:

Discussion group for our readings, the in class blot, I did a paper on women in the myths we read. I learned much about the culture of the Germanic people and their gods, goddesses and creatures in mythology.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the readings, you're expected to read several chapters outside of class a week, and in-class discussion comes directly from your readings. Take notes on the readings, so you can directly quote from the texts in discussion and essays.
