Not too easy. Not too difficult.
All the benefits of Art Appreciation with none of the tedium, Art and Culture teaches you how to analyze various artistic mediums while exposing you to a myriad of different masterworks beyond just the Mona Lisa or Beethoven's 5th Symphony. In addition, you learn what makes art "good" or "bad", and where art fits into the Christian worldview.
Dr. Crawford is very passionate and knowledgeable about this course, and he is always available either via email, appointment, or at the end of class to answer questions. The assignments are simple and straightforward, most of them being easy to do ahead of time. The lessons are easy to follow, and the required text, "Reality Through the Arts", was used almost the entire course, so no money was wasted on that. Most of all, the course gave students an excuse to attend live performances---on occasion, Dr. Crawford was able to give the class access to free tickets for certain events. Every other week, there was a moderately-easy art analysis that took the place of the quiz.

Advice for students:
The weekly discussion journals (3 per week, 100-150 words each) and quizzes are easy enough, but putting them off until the due date is a bad idea. Do them early in the week, and you'll have more much-needed time for other assignments.
