    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is an introductory course, but that doesn't mean it's hard. But the hard work pays off once you get into the harder courses. I would recommend Dr. Javidan, even though he doesn't upload grades, he is the most thorough teacher.

    Course highlights:

The thing that really helped me the most would be learning chords, and how to create them.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely, acquire a theory tutor. It was my life saver throughout the entire course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class was very informative. I highly suggest knowing most of the material before attending the class. He has a tendency to automatically assume you know everything. Even though it's a 101 class, he tends to speed through a lot of things as if you already know them.

    Course highlights:

I learned an extreme amount of new information. He teaches scales very well. I would say the highlights of the class would high trying to sing the scales. He doesn't have the best singing voice. However, he is very nice and definitely is very knowledgeable about what he's teaching

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely plan your schedule accordingly. He throws a lot of information your way. So, knowing head of time what he's teaching is key to success

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because Dr. Ohriner is very knowledgable about the subject, teaches quickly but is responsive to questions and makes sightsinging fun!

    Course highlights:

For me the highlights were learning to sightsing on solfege and his 'speed drills'--demonstrating a few of the more simple concepts in under a minute so we'd have certain concepts absolutely ingrained in our minds.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

As long as you do his homework and be open to asking questions you'll do very well!
