    Course Overview:

    This FYS course teaches and investigates Mayan culture.

    Course highlights:

    Meet new people from different backgrounds and cultures. The Mayan people were an accomplished civilization with advanced farming methods and made significant advancements in mathematics and astronomy.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    I would encourage anyone to take this course to learn about the fall, the struggle and the rise of an ancient civilization.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

    I would recommend this course because it had a very interesting subject and made me more culturally aware and respectful.

    Course highlights:

    I loved the low stress environment that Professor Garver created and the fun that she incorporated into each lesson.

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

    Have good writing skills. The professor doubles as an English professor and really only assigns essays, so brush up on your grammar a little before your first assignment!

    The highlight of this course is when we went to New York and eat the different foods they have.

    Be ready to eat and eat new foods and share how you feel.
