    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great way to fulfill the Social Science requirement for the College. This course is great introduction to a whole range of topics on psychology.

    Course highlights:

This class provided a basic introduction to different psychological topics, like learning, perception, social psychology, etc. I learned a whole lot about the brain, and this information has changed the way I think about thinking.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely read and study the textbook. The course covers a lot of material, so the exams are rather difficult. Be sure to study the material and ask questions if you don't understand.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This professor is fair, engaging and very easy to talk to. If something confuses you, just shoot him a late-night email or go to his office hours and he will be more than happy to help you in whatever way he can. Sometimes he can be monotonous, but you can always go back and view the highlights of the class on his UVA collab page; he uploads every powerpoint. He is also one of the better professors for this course, understanding that intro classes tend to be very topic heavy. For this reason, he will do what he can to make the information understandable. It is a very manageable class with interesting topics and videos.

    Course highlights:

On occasion, the professor will ask for volunteers from the class to participate in mock experiments or short skits, making the class entertaining. Further, I feel as though I have deepened my understanding of psychology, in regards to what I already knew. I learned the foundational aspects of nearly each branch of psychology. It was a wildly fulfilling course and the professor made sometimes monotonous topics and made them fun.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class, and write your notes rather than type them. There is always a lot of stuff going on at the front of the lecture hall that will reinforce your learning, and the couple of times I used my laptop, I found myself missing those important pieces.
