    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The Professor is highly knowledgeable in the intersecting fields of Children, Family, and Law. The course components were practical tools for creating a stimulating working environment, and the readings were informative as they were interesting. Grading is tough, but it feels deserved.

    Course highlights:

How children are often caught within systems of Family autonomy and State Parens Patriae.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the material quickly (there's a lot of it), and take advantage of the practical activities and optional seminars. You will learn a lot in this class.

The course was challenging however, interactive and exciting. Each student is also encouraged to complete a ride along with a local police office to have a first hand experience with domestic violence or how children and families interact with the law.

    Course highlights:

How children, families and the law interact in negative and positive ways.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

    be passionate about the topic.
