    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

In class lectures do not cover the same material as the textbook, making the homework difficult and studying for quizzes more strenuous. However, the material is very interesting and different than most other classes, and Professor Murphy is very passionate about the subject and educated about all things space.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the interesting and usually captivating lectures. Professor Murphy discussed interesting topics and made each lecture something to look forward to, where there were always new things to learn.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this astronomy course, one needs to dedicate multiple hours to reading the textbook each week, before attempting to complete the homework. Also it would behoove students to compare lecture and textbook notes before every quiz.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is one of those classes that you sign up for with the impression that it will be a lot easier than it is. Evans is a professor who cares so much about what he teaches and is really clearly passionate about the solar system, but he often goes off on tangents and tests on things never mentioned in class.

    Course highlights:

It is very clear how passionate about the solar system professor Evans is and the labs, while time consuming, were very interesting.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

There is not a ton of math and science involved, mostly memorization so if that is something you are good at then you'll do well in this class.
