Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Everyone should take this class! Understanding microeconomics is vital because as consumers we all engage in various markets, but many don't understand how these markets actually work and the role we all play in the larger economy.

    Course highlights:

I found learning about marginal utility to be the most applicable and interesting part of the course. It's all very rational but many people overlook this concept when making their own purchasing decisions. It really gave me insight into how my own mind works when I'm considering buying something!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When preparing for tests, the practice book that accompanies the main textbook is a major asset. It summarizes the major points from the chapter and then gives concrete problems to practice on with detailed explanations for each answer. You won't regret spending the money on the practice book and it'll greatly help on tests.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course contains very useful information and a renowned professor! Professor Elzinga is famous on grounds and hearing what he has to say is very worthwhile.

    Course highlights:

I learned the usefulness of economics in a social setting. Before taking econ, I did not know that one could logically deduce a person's behavior using the principles of economics.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Start studying for the exams early. There is a lot of information that can be overwhelming when you sit down to study. Do not get discouraged if you get a bad grade either. Not everyone is good at economics.

I loved the tangent lectures like the beer lecture. He has so much experience and also worked heavily in the government sector with anti-trust cases, so that makes the class very interesting.

    Hours per week:

    Advice for students:

Make sure you do ALL the readings and get to know your TA early. The TA will be so helpful in this.
