    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Gilstrap is super strict but extremely passionate about the topic. People who have been in her class either love her or hate her so her courses have very mixed reviews. I can honestly say that I learned a lot about the general topic of marketing, even though a lot of it is common sense. I actually retained the information because her tests require that you study and know how to apply the subject matter to a real life situation. I do, however, believe that I could have learned this material equally well with another instructor, hence, the rating. I don't appreciate when teachers try to micromanage my time for me and holds herself to different standards by showing up late without a valid excuse and belittling others for coming in late with a reasonable explanation.

    Course highlights:

I learned tons about the basics of marketing. The course doesn't really support the creative aspects of the marketing realm, and is very one-sided in its approach to resolving theoretical company issues.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Unfortunately, you actually have to study for this class...you might want to start now.

    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Professor Slough is by far one of the best professors I've had in my time here at VCU. He's very easy to approach and is always willing to help students out during his office hours regarding the class, their career path, etc.

    Course highlights:

My highlights included constantly going to his office so he could help me better prepare for my future in Marketing.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read the textbook and do his homework.
