Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Amanda is an amazing teacher who loves to engage with her students. She encourages speaking up in class, and likes to hear new perspectives on the topics she teaches. Speech days were my favorite, even though I hated public speaking at the time, because of how involved she was. She taught the class to empower people who were speaking, which turned us all into good listeners. Class was always fun, even when we were going through complex ideas.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course for me was our group project at the end of the quarter. We all worked very hard on our topic, and we presented it as a team. It was my favorite day of the quarter, and even my entire time at Bellevue College. In class, we learned about how to manage our non-verbal and verbal cues. We learned about how a language can define a group of people, and how certain needs have to be met before you can talk to a person. I still use everything I learned in that class, and I am constantly growing in my communication skills.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Participation is one of the most important parts of this class. Asking questions and sharing your opinion helps you and other learn. Make friends with as many people in the class as you can, because they are a key part of the experience. There were several people that I became friends with, and it helped me to study with them and it kept good relationships going through group projects.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This was an amazing starting course. Sitko makes you get involved and makes you come out of your shell. He make sure you interact with other students and pushes you to think for yourself. His stories are funny and he just make going to class enjoyable.

    Course highlights:

You get to present and get video taped, its awkward but you get to see where you need to improve. I learned to slow my speech and make eye contact in a positive way.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:
