Pretty easy, overall.
It's a very interesting course. I took it as part of my music minor studies. Each class meeting is a brief look and different types of music from all around the world. Some of the genres we studied are Western Classical, Japanese Theater, and Native American music. We really went all over the world. Good class to fulfill a GE or if you just want to learn more about different music traditions.
I learned a lot about how music is perceived around the world. Many of the music traditions we studied did not use the same structure that we are accustomed to hearing in Western music (e.g. the diatonic scale), so all the music was very unique. It was also interesting to learn about the different roles music plays in different cultures.

Advice for students:
As long as you show up to class and take modest notes, you should be able to pass this class easily.
