    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would absolutely recommend this course. It provided enough background information to welcome students at any level of understanding about the U.S. education system, it provided historical and current information while also relating the information to current policies and changes that can be made to benefit students in the future.

    Course highlights:

Essentially, every piece of this course was a highlight. The learning was insightful and community oriented. It included many noteworthy guest speakers, thoughtful group activities, and information that matters. I very much enjoyed the freedom regarding what I wanted to study specifically for my research project and the flexibility of my professor as the course grew into itself and shifted its goal.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You must be self-motivated! This is a skill that can be developed so don't panic if you could not honestly describe yourself as self directed at the moment. One more piece of advice would be to communicate with your professor about your needs as a student because more often than not, they will be ready and willing to accommodate.

    Course Overview:

Great class helping those that have been away from academia for sometime to adjust to it.

    Course highlights:

In the course I learned how to manage study habits. We also covered expectations and roles of the teacher and student relationship.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Give it all you got and remember that the pain you feel is normal.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend the program if you are a student that is engaged about how to make a society and those that are into education. This class will help you learn how to manage a group of people in ways which lead to civic intelligence.

    Course highlights:

The course requires a ton of reading and community involvement. I learned what does it take to create a civically intelligent society.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Please participate fully in class and read the readings before coming to class. Discussions are heavy!!
