    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I was really looking forward to this course because I love music, but it was not what I expected at all. All of the coursework was Music Journals and discussions. The journals were basically a goose chase of question and answers that were not kept up to date on the edition of the book. Then, the discussion were just sharing songs that you liked, and why you liked them, there wasn't much of a discussion of popular music at all, mostly just a show and tell with music.

    Course highlights:

Given the title of the course, you learn a lot about the history of american popular music, how it originated and developed into what it is today. There is a lot of information regarding the formation of jazz and country, I felt as though we overlooked some of the other genres. Given that I took this course online, I do not feel as though I learned as much as I would have if I took it in person.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take the course on campus. If you take the course online be prepared to do a lot of reading and writing. The journals are very extensive and the chapters are long.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor makes the material easy to learn, and always has fun games to help you along.

    Course highlights:

The games made class fascinating, and we were always learning new vocabulary to keep us busy.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice every day, if you fail to do so, the material will be much more difficult and you could become lost.
