    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Alyce does an amazing job in teaching the difficult subject of genetics. She makes you think beyond what the textbook tells you and how the various concepts apply in real life. She's always available for questions. The course material is interesting and challenging at the same time.

    Course highlights:

I learned the importance of reading and understanding the material beyond just memorization. Critical thinking plays an important part in Alyce's class. Labs are interesting as essentially you follow an experiment through all 12 weeks, performing different parts each week. A formal lab report is written at the end, but you write parts of it through the semester (which is very helpful!)

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Go with an open mind and curiosity of a scientist. Put time into studying for her exams, as she does a great job picking your brain to see if you truly understand what you've learned. Attending her lectures is beneficial!
