    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class definitely requires you to work hard and devote the necessary time and attention. The concepts/terms aren't actually too complicated, but you need to be able to apply them to many different situations. And the best way to gain that skill is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! Simply looking over lecture notes probably won't be enough. Answer the practice problems that are provided to you and create your own. This skill will help you in future courses, too, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to start now!

    Course highlights:

Mendelian genetics, evolution, biodiversity of life forms, ecology and conservation biology were the main topics that I learned from this course.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Like I said earlier, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! In some classes, you can get by on just studying your lecture notes. I think for the vast majority of students, this won't be the case in this class. Spend time with practice problems, form study groups, and seek when you need it.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoyed this course. It is exposed me to some basic principles of biology that made me want to learn more.

    Course highlights:

Since this is the first course in the introductory series it doesn't cover things in depth such as genes or organs but looks at the overall idea of evolution which I found fascinating.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to do the homework and read the textbook! I know everyone says that, but it is really important to stay on top of the material otherwise the classes get confusing. Also, don't be afraid to go to office hours, the professors really do want to help!
