This course is interesting, but the professor just repeats what is on the powerpoint. The quiz section is great though! Though fairly boring lectures, the content presented is intriguing and definitely worth the time invested to study.
I've learned about the juvenile justice system, poverty, and HIV/AIDS in relevance to the social systems in the United States. These social issues are then viewed in a broader scope through different theories which demonstrate the different views of how society is made up and should be run.

Be prepared to read and relearn the content at home! The material taught is very interesting, but also very tedious. If you are interred in social issues in the United States, you should enjoy this class. Note that this is not a 'fun' elective, but a challenging class.
