Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class has boosted my self confidence in talking in front of others. The quiz sections (which you give your speeches to) are only 15 students, so there isn't a lot of pressure. This course also helped me with interviews. One assignment makes you come up with a speech on the spot, and this helped me think on my feet, and on the spot.

    Course highlights:

How to make my audience feel a certain way. I was always afraid of speaking in front of others. However, after this course I found that I actually enjoy public speaking and want to go into a field someday with public speaking.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Go into it with an open mind, and goto class. It may sound pointless but a lot of the techniques I learned from lecture were very useful.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for students that want to get over speaking in front of a audience.

    Course highlights:

I learned about body language awareness as you speak to a audience.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say consider the amount of work you put into this course would effect the amount of experience you would get out of this course.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoyed Professor Parks! He was friendly and funny and I enjoyed going to class. There isn't a textbook so much of the class relies on lecture. But if you go to lecture and pay attention I'm sure you'll do fine. A few small assignments and a midterm and final.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of basics of communication that I didn't know about prior to taking the course.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give to future students is to go to class. Ask questions when you need to, and for me when I wanted to memorize concepts try coming up with your own real world examples. Applying class concepts to real life really helped me. Also participate in session it will count!
