    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is a requirement to certify into the Carson School of Business and it is a very tough course. The exams don't cover the lectures very closely. The book is the only thing used for the exams, however you must study the text methodically to perform well on the exams.

    Course highlights:

You get to practice using Microsoft Excel.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to the lectures. the instructor explains the material well and will answer any questions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Curry does a great job of introducing MIS to students who aren't familiar with it. I became extremely familiar with and proficient at creating flowcharts, databases and webpages. Curry provides students with powerpoint and lectures to learn the material.

    Course highlights:

I learned to create flowcharts, databases in different forms, and webpages. I also learned MIS terms and many things about computers and how technology plays a role in all businesses in the modern day.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Reading the textbook before and after class lectures was very helpful in learning the specific terms for the tests. It was also helpful to listen to the online lectures before doing in class labs and projects.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class improves your knowledge in the fields of Excel and Access, which I find very beneficial in today's world with technology becoming such a booming industry for jobs. The labs for this class are very informative and helpful to learn and understand the content needed for the course work.

    Course highlights:

Throughout this course I was able to obtain information to use excel for future jobs in the finance department with how to set up equations and format whole tables to contain a certain data set.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to lecture, as much as other students may not say you need to. I have gone to ever lecture and have an A in the class while others have struggled to pass any of the exams. Also, read the books both lab and lecture. The exams are very heavily based off that information.
