    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

A lot of work has to be put inside and outside of the class, and you only earn 2 credits after passing the class. It is a great introductory course into engineering, and you get to learn and experience what it is like to be an engineer. Mechanical and civil engineer majors enjoy this class. But only take this course if you have to. It is entirely a lab course, most learning happens outside of the classroom.

    Course highlights:

You get to learn basic concepts that many mechanical and civil engineers use when they are doing their jobs, for example designing and building bridges. You also get to design, 3D print, and test your own impeller, build a robot that you can feed codes and programs, and you will learn about electrical circuits. If you love working in a team setting, you will enjoy this class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Having some background in physics definitely would be helpful for this course, especially since it's an engineering class. Also be aware that you are required to purchase and build the robot yourself, and that it costs $120. Personally for me it was a lot of money.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class is very interesting, however it is a lot more work for just a two credit class and you must spend a lot of time and energy in this class that can take away from other classes.

    Course highlights:

You get the basics of every type of engineering, with most being in mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering. You do a lot of experiments and learn a lot of general engineering information.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering this course make sure you are not taking a lot of classes that are work load heavy. This course takes up a lot of time and energy.
